The Carisbrook Fire Brigade visited with the Dunolly Fire Brigade to get an understanding of the operation of the appliances, then later retired to Mr Fulchers hotel where they declared their visit had been very successful.

Things were Progressing in Dunolly on November 28

1936
The Argus announced that the Dunolly Progress Association, along with the Shire of Bet Bet, had installed a new kitchenette and stage scenery in the Dunolly Town Hall, also that the Bet Bet Shire had decided to better the water supply at Dunolly by improving the embankment and enlarging the catchment area of the Old Read Reservoir.

November 26 saw cricket scores smashed

R. Herring, batting for Maryborough against Moliagul at the Maryborough High School Oval, scored a record 32 runs off the final over, bringing his three hour effort to 282, comprising of seven 6s and fifty 4s.

Carisbrook's electricity system was officially switched on amidst great ceremony of the local residents, it was announced that the next town to be considered for an electricity system would be Dunolly.

'Roo running riot down Broadway on November 23

1857
A correspondent from Maryborough relayed to a city newspaper how a “fine” kangaroo rushed down Broadway in Dunolly with a large pack of curs and mongrels in pursuit.

Unclean water on November 22

A recent death at the Dunolly and District Hospital led to the close examination of an old well at Tarnagulla where typhoid germs were found in the water; orders to destroy the well were issued immediately.

The Dunolly to Inglewood Railway line was officially opened at Tarnagulla with a luncheon supplied for the crowd of over 100 in the pavillion ballroom on the reserve.

The Bromley Wesleyan Sunday School first anniversary celebration was well attended despite the heavy downpour, with special hymns sung.

          their church, 100 pounds having been subscribed towards the teachers salary."

Bealiba-ites were still gadding about at Back To Bealiba on November 17

1927
"The Back to Bealiba celebrations have been a huge success; the Old Time Ball raised £43, the gymkhana at the racecourse was equally well attended and raised £27.
A picnic in the park with fishing along the Avoca river is planned for today followed by pictures tonight and the Bealiba Mutual Improvement Society entertaining visitors in the Town Hall."

Even more frivolity at Back to Bealiba on November 14

Even more Back to Bealiba events were held on this day; the revellers waltzing down memory lane went Back to School with arrangements to visit the old Bealiba School followed by a concert that night at the Bealiba Public Hall.

Back to Bealiba continued with gadding about cherry orchards on November 13

Further Back to Bealiba events included special church services and a motor car drive to the cherry orchards at Moliagul, followed by a Sacred Concert held in the Bealiba Public Hall that night.

Back to Bealiba with sports and dances on November 12

A sports day was held with the celebrations of the Back to Bealiba week; £37 was collected at the gates with a grand procession onto the ground followed by a dance that night in the hall.

Eddington lost a piece of history on November 10

1900
The Commercial Hotel at Eddington, one of the oldest in the area, was totally destroyed by fire.
The family was woken by a young child and escaped the fire with only the night clothes on their backs.
Mr Wooltorton had only leased the hotel six weeks earlier from the owner Miss Nuttall.

Dunolly Hospital Sports ran laps on November 9

1910
The annual Dunolly Hospital Sports Day was held to raise monies for the hospital, with £38 collected at the gate.
The 18 mile Road Race won by Lloyd, 1 mile Bicycle Race won by Leach, 2 mile Bicycle Race won by Lloyd, Open Wood Chop won by Taylor, Local Wood Chop won by Byrnes, 130 yards Race won by Cross and Local Bicycle Race won by Fraser.

Dunolly Hospital feted all and sundry on November 8

The annual Dunolly and District Hospital fete was a great success; the weather was magnificent and with over 2,000 people in attendance the collection expected to be close to £400.

Train wreck near Dunolly on November 7

There was a collision between two trains on the Castlemaine and Dunolly railway line near Dunolly, leaving the driver of one of the trains injured.

Dunolly was alive with the sound of music on November 6

1892
Bowenvale Brass Band entertained a large number of Dunolly residents at the Recreation Reserve with hymns to raise money for the Dunolly and District Hospital, £12  being collected at the gate.
Choirs sung hymns and Mr. Trenwith ,MLA, was in attendance.

The drapery store of Fuggle and Snowden on Broadway was destroyed by fire, as was Mr Williams', the next door tailor, with total losses estimated at £1,500.

Eddington went Postal on November 1

1861
The Eddington Post Office was opened on this day; it became a Registered Office around 1915 (probable down turn of manpower and vital industries during wartime) was reinstated as a PO in 1917, finally closed after long service in 1979.
