June 1 Singing so merrily amidst Dunolly's gold fields...

1861
Madame Carandini, Victoria’s first operatic star, visited Dunolly.

With her daughters, Walter Sherwin and others, Carandini then formed her own concert company and in the 1860s and 1870s toured the colonies from Adelaide to the Palmer goldfields.
