August 4 Glug, glug, glug the gold

Two miners – a Mauritian and an East Indianman – found ‘a lot of nuggets’ in Dead Mans Gully at Mosquito ; they invested a large portion of this gold in firewater (sly grog) and left Dunolly the next day on very unsteady feet.

*ahem*
Gosh, that couldn't possibly happen these days...could it....?
As I have no pic of flying pigs you can make do with this delightful gate.
