November 25 Things what happened on this day in Delightful Dunolly

1875 Peter’s soap and candle factory burnt to the ground.

1880 Rev. Dr. John Flynn was born at Moliagul.

1883 Between 2 and 4 am four young men of the larrikin class made raids on the houses of those Chinese in town and also at the Chinese Camp. A number of huts on the Old Lead were the first visited where windows, doors, etc were broken, the camp suffered a great deal.

1934 Mr William Thomas Harvey passed away at Dunolly at the age of 79 years, one of the proprietors of the Dunolly Express, he had been associated with the newspaper for 69 years.

1937 Carisbrooks electricity system was officially switched on amidst great ceremony, it was announced that the next to be considered for an electricity system would be Dunolly.
