August 25 On This Day in Dunolly & District History

1861 HB Daly Storekeeper at Dunolly has been appointed an agent to sell the celebrated cough drops and influenza drops of Grants And Sons which gave universal satisfaction the previous winter.

 1861 Designs for a town hall are invited by the municipal council of Dunolly with 15 pounds awarded to the plan approved of and adopted by the council.

 1891 Councillor Thomas Fothringham was elected to president of the Bet Bet Shire.

 1932 Councillor McPherson dislocated his shoulder when he was thrown from a cart in which he was riding on top of boxes.

 1932 Ten shooters from Dunolly shot 550 hares and 2 foxes at Corack.
