Habitat Protection and Encouraging Native Insects Saturday 20 February
In this activity we will look at some ways we can use to develop native habitats and encourage insects and birds into our gardens. The garden we will visit will demonstrate some of the ways we can attract native animals into the garden to help pollinate plants and to control insect pests.
We will also look at a range of techniques that are used to maintain a garden in very dry conditions. Some of the techniques we will look at will include raised garden beds, aquaponics and wicking systems.
Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be provided.
For those wishing to attend, please meet in the car park behind The Hub at 1.30pm on Saturday, for a short drive out to the garden.
