1859 A new rush between Mount Moligul and Cochrans (Bealiba) has broken out, Mr Callot’s crushing machine now in full force with the best rocks having been found at Kingower and old Dunolly, also a new rush has started at Moligul on the Jericho road.
1861 New rush began with a gold find at Burnt Creek.
1880 It was reported by a recent arrival to Melbourne from Dunolly that a carrier walking alongside his cart at Jones’ Creek stumbled on a lump in the road; thinking it was a lump of dirt he kicked at it removing the top dirt and revealing the gold nugget that it was, worth 400 pounds.
