Dunolly Community Garden

The grafting and pruning workshop with Carolyn Gemmel from Mudlark Permaculture was a great day.
Carolyn has been saving rare and heritage fruit trees for many years and has an enormous collection of fruit tree varieties. Everyone had the opportunity to produce a grafted fruit tree to take home. In the next few years we will get to taste some amazing fruit.
Carolyn also taught us about the importance of mulching with woody materials. These encourage healthy microflora that help feed the plant’s roots.
Central Goldfields Council kindly donated a load of tan bark for the lane-way, so that should help the trees along.

We meet every Wednesday at 2pm (changing to 5.00pm during daylight saving).
Come along for a cuppa.
