1867 Some excitement was created on Saturday in Dunolly, by the "jumping" of some 210ft of the Goldsborough Company's celebrated claim, Bealiba Reef. The alleged grounds for the jumping are that the company was only registered for a claim of 150 ft instead of 360ft. The matter will be brought before the Warden's Court.

 1884 A Chinese timber cutter known as Ah Fat was killed at Waanyarra by a falling tree.

 1888 A mass meeting of the ratepayers was held in the Bet Bet Shire Hall where resolutions were passed regarding the lettering on the stones of the Queen Victoria Jubilee Memorial Fountain.

 1954 NAMES OF CRASH PILOTS RELEASED MELBOURNE, Tuesday. -The captain of an R.A.A.F.Dakota that crash landed in the sea near Iwakuni (Japan)at the week-end was Pilot Officer Hector N. Macdonald, of Stanthorpe (Qld.), R.A.A.F.headquartcrs said to-day.The second pilot was Sergeant Roger E. Bateson, of Dunolly (Vic.). Both escaped with minor injuries.
