1856 The polling of the electors of Talbot resident hero took place yesterday at the Bet Bet. An unpardonable apathy was evinced on the occasion, as will be seen by the results. At least 400 or 500 votes were expected to be recorded, and in that case the Dunolly electors would have exercised no small influence upon the final result of the election. There are, however, some extenuating circumstances. This locality is a wide one, and five miles, at least, had to be traversed to the polling places, tho majority being a still greater distance from it.
1873 The Dunolly Express reported that at the depth of 150 feet there was a 12 feet length of timber (log or tree trunk) found in the Band of Hope Company, that no one knew the age of the timber or how it came to be at such a depth but that the grain of the wood was clearly visible and was soft to the touch.
1946 Foundation stone of the Nurses’ Home at Dunolly Hospital was laid by Mr Dunstan, MLA. The building will cost 11,893 pounds and will be completed in 3 months.
