January 20 On This Day (Nganko Nyawiyu) in Dunolly (Lea Kurribur) History

1860 The first coaches began trundling from Dunolly to St Arnaud.

 1887 An 800-1000 pound nugget was found at White’s paddock, south-east of the town.

 1903 Passengers on the 2pm train from Inglewood to Dunolly were detained at Inglewood for over 3 hours owing to the inability of the engine man to get up enough steam.

 1940 Dunolly Reunion - A gathering, of  Old Dunolly-ites will be held at The Palms.
